|Belly! On yesterday's ride, I suffered a terrible pain in my abdomen for all 30 miles of the ride. On the typical 1 to 10 scale of pain, I would rate it a 6. Pretty bad, but not exactly debilitating. It sure kept me from enjoying the ride and riding as hard as I wanted. It felt like a cramp, but I can't be sure that's what it was. As soon as I got off the bike and cooled down, it subsided although I still didn't feel great for the rest of the day. In fact, I took an hour nap and pretty much lounged around the rest of the evening.
I ate lunch about an hour before the ride consisting of a Gardenburger, chips, yogurt, and a few cookies.
Has anyone suffered a similar type of pain/cramping? Do you think it was related to me eating lunch not long enough before riding, and perhaps something about lunch not agreeing with my stomach.
Thanks for in advance for your response.

|i'll have stomach pains that rate 3-5, but they last a couple days, and are most likely attributed to a lack of abdominal and back workouts. they're not blunt pain, not sharp pain, but are targeted, and similar to "pulling" a muscle.
ate a big (BIG) breakfast on saturday and rode within 20 minutes. was afraid i would have problems, as it was a strenuous ride immediately after a meal; i like to have 1.5-2.5 hours between meal and ride. no problems, though.
could it have been gastric distress?
