I am upgrading bikes this year... Does any one ride or have an opinion of the Klein "Quantum Race"? It's drivetrain and brakes are Ultegra and rolls on Rolf Vector Pro wheels.

Thanks,
Richard

There are a lot of reviews on the 2000 Quantums:

In general, Quantums have a reputation as being very good climbing bikes, sort of like the smarter older brother of Cannondale.
Some people love them, some people think they are a little overpriced. I would say they value performance over comfort...but that's just one opinion...

I ride a '99 Klein QR. I have been very satisfied my my Klein. I don't know about being over priced, mine cost around $2300, I guess they raised the price. Good stiff, strong frame, beautiful neat welds and paint. Does everything well. If you want an al bike I don't think that you will find a finer one. They have changed the geometry I believe for the 20001 models.
I have had good luck with the Rolf Vector Comp wheels, I guess they upgraded to Vector Pro's. I like my Klein so much that I am thinking about upgrading and ditching the idea about a new bike next year.
Yes, check the reviews, I've never read a bad one from a Klein owner.
If I had to do it over again, I'd buy the Klein frameset and have it built up, and pick and choose my own components. The trouble with an off the peg bike is that you are stuck with whatever they come with. The Trek/Icon stuff is middle of the road, and the Rolf wheels, although I have had good luck with them, would not be my first choice for a wheelset.
Make sure that you can handle the steep geometry, I have a little trouble with the 74 degree seat tube angle on long rides. Then again some guys do centuries on them with no problems.

I have a '99 all stock but the tires, love it. Find a '00 and you can save $$$.

Ilove my Klein and I am 43 in fact like it better than my Waterford 2200.If you could change the Rolf wheelset for a Velomax wheelset you could not go wrong
