|I was just wondering what gearing the PRO"S use?? Non humans like Lance and company? It cant be a secret becasue they are out in the open!!or maybe they use stock bikes? Yeah right!!|

|They change their gearing depending on the terrain and the individual riders style. Flat races something like a 53/42 up front and an 11-21 cassette at the back. For Alpine/Dolomite stages something like a 53/39 up front and as big as a 25 or so at the back if it's a tough day. A lot can depend on the way a rider climbs. For example Laurent Fignon was great at spinning so he'd sit spin a 39/23 all day, whereas Sean Kelly would mash a 39/21 on the same climb.|

|Read a recent interview with Lance Armstrong and he said he likes as big as a 28 on the back sometimes in the mountains. I think it was in last months procycling.
