Getting adhesive off handlebars(5 posts)

Getting adhesive off handlebarsDave Bisers

I'm putting new tape on my handlebars. The previous owner of my bike put electrical tape on the bars. I was just wondering what the best way to get off all the old adhesive from the bars.
Thanks,

It may just make the new tape stick better. I just leave it there.

If you really want it off, automotive brake cleaner works well (used it to take the big stickers off my Ksyriums); citrus based cleaners will work, too.
