Blackburn floor pump(3 posts)

Does anyone know where I can obtain a replacement head for my Blackburn floor pump? The plastic pin that the flip-lock operates on has cracked, making it difficult to use. I've checked Blackburn's website but didn't see anything about replacement parts for a pump that's supposedly "completely servicable". Any advice is much appreciated!

... a few options I know of...

One, return the pump to your LBS and they can replace the part under Blackburn's warranty...

Two, check with your LBS. Blackburn DOES make a few replacement/rebuild parts available for SOME of their floor pumps (hose, head connection, internals, etc.)

Three, splicing a different head unto your current hose.

Be the bike.

Go with Akirosho's suggestion #3...

The head on my Blackburn floor pump died, so I put a nice brass Silca head on there. One little hose clamp from the hardware store and a little piece of an old tube wrapped under the hose clamp for "padding"

Works great to 110 or 115 psi- haven't needed to go further, but I'm sure it would hold. And the Silca head (presta only) is so much better than the Blackburn plastic junk.
