Who makes a good travel case. I have to fly out of town and I can't be without my bike for two weeks. I am just a poor boy, so I need a good deal on one. If anybody has one they want to sell, let me know.
My bike is 55cm. I heard that airlines charge you to fly a bike, if so, is that all of them or is their a bike freindly airline out there.
What is the normal charge the travel with your bike? Hell, I should just drive.

Check Colorado Cyclist, they have a nice looking basic plastic case that goes for about a hundred bucks, versus 3 or more for the fancier jobs with handles rollers etc. Unless you travel a lot I would go for the cheap one. Also check with your local shops, I know of a shop that rents them.

US airlines charge $50-75 for a bike (golf bags as big as your house are free). Join the League of American Bicyclists ( and you can book travel through their travel agent and not pay the bike fee.
