New Jamis EclipseRocco's Big Ride 2001
May 5, 2001 10:18 AM
I am finalizing a purchase of an 2001 Eclipse. I am getting the bike with Shimano 858 pedals for $1800. Is this a good deal? Should I buy down and get a lesser wheel and put the money into aero bars and Flight Deck Computer? Or leave wheels alone? Thoughts on FlightDeck appreciated. Also is wireless the way to go? I am doing the Montana Vaccine Ride and the Canada/US Vaccine Ride. No bike since my old Fuji S-12-S. You folks here seem to be so helpful, thanks in advance.

You definatly should get a computer if you don't have one for the bike...

I don't see the aero bars unless you'll be doing TT's, and why not leave the wheels alone?

As for the flight deck I can't say as I don't use it, but I do have a P-Brain which was a great deal for $200 w/ the computer interface. See if you can check one out, has tons of features + HRM but it's wired. I don't see any real downsides to it being wired, but I guess some people like the cleaner look of the wireless stuff.
