|Ok so on long rides my cycling shorts are causing a rash down in the nether-regions. Any one know of a good product/strategy to alleviate this problem?|

|Use Chamois Butter while riding-Hydrocortizone cream to get the rash under control,if it persists try a jock itch prep.

|...wash your shorts between rides. If you have a fungal infection, you have to wash your shorts between rides or you will keep infecting yourself each time you ride.|

|if it's friction/heat causing schafing, use either a&d ointment before/during rides or baby powder (not talc), clean and dry after rides and get outta your shorts right away. wear boxers post-ride.
if it's fungal, get outta your shorts immediately post-ride, shower, use a blow dryer on cool air down-under, follow with baby powder (non-talc), boxers, new towel often, new shorts 2x/day, etc. -- ultra-hygene. if persistent, go to the doc for an oral anti-fungal (those topicals never seemed to work for me). overall, keep it clean and dry and it'll go away eventually. antibiotics can weaken your body's resistance to fungals. btw, my dad swears by 70% alcohol as a topical followed by baby powder.
either: get out of the saddle often.
also, don't breathe the baby powder. it's bad mojo.
i'm not a doctor, but i've been to one enough to regurgitate their diagnoses. see a doc if you have any doubts, or just to be sure.

|of using the "VIEW ALL" option on this thread make anyone else squeamish? The previous posters thoughts are well done. Been there, done what they suggest and it works.|| |
