|Jamis or Trek||JL|

|OK. I was asking earlier this week for opinions on a new bike. I appreciate the Trek advice GRZ MONKEY, et. al. It's a nice ride, but I tried the Jamis Eclipse today and it felt as good. The parts on the Jamis seem to be way up there compared to Trek and, for me, they're the same price ($2300). Should I go with the Steel or the OCLV?
I know it's supposed to be what feels good to me, but I thought I'd try some more opinions. Anyone else have 2001 Jamis Eclipse?
Thanks in advance. Sorry if I keep asking, it's just a lot of money.

|I would also like to know if anyone has any comments on the Jamis Comet. Seems like a good bike and components for the price ($1,500)|

|A While back I was looking at the Jamis Quest. It compared very favorably to comperable bikes. No generic components. Better price then those bikes with generic components. I've heard a lot of good things about the Eclipse. I believe if the fit is good and you like the way it rides, you can't go wrong with the Jamis.|

|I have an older (96) Jamis Eclipse. I bought it because I felt it was an excellent value. Have not changed my mind over the years. As you mentioned, the componants on this bike are first class. You won't need to "upgrade". You can't go wrong with the Jamis.|

|I believe in Bicycling ,agazine the Eclipse got 4.5 stars for its overall value of the bike. I wanted to try the Jamis but here in Riverside Calif. nobody had one so I tried the Lemond Zurich and Trek 5200 instead.
I ended buying the Trek(00 model for 1800) but I wish I could of compared it to the Jamis first.
