How to get rid of Oil+grit on shorts?Woof the dog

My voler shorts are not black (diff. color). I would fix the chain and there would be a black spot there and there. How do i get rid of these black marks? Washing doesn't seem to do the job completely. This is probably one of the few tricks I haven't discovered yet. Enlighten me. Thanx a lot.

Ivory dish soap and hand scrubbing with a gentle scrubby sponge. TTFN

You could always try one of the spot/stain remover products out there (they work pretty well at removing engine oil stains from a white shirt... - most of them are a gel which you work into the spot before washing), or better yet, something like a citrus degreaser - as long as the exposure time is short (i.e., put a little on and remove the spot right before washing) you will probably be ok - of course, try it on an inconspicuous location first to make sure the color doesn't fade.
OxiClean works pretty well...PsyDoc

and you can buy it at Sam's Club or Wal-Mart. Sam's club has the better value and the stuff is great for stain removal!
