Anyone out there have any experience with the new Sampson Telluride? I spoke to them the other day and they say that they'll build it up anyway that you want (frame style, tubing, etc.). I'm kind of concerned about buying a bike mail order, though. Any opinions will be appreciated.

I am a small frame builder alot like Sampson and would have to say that mail ordering a bike from a smaller company is a very safe a smart way of doing business. Working with a smaller company allows you to specify exactly what you are looking for in a frame and exactly wich features you want. The key to a successful transaction is communication. You have to be very vocal about exactly what you want so that there is no question in anyones mind. I am sure you will end up with a very nice frame.

I've never ridden a Sampson. However, I wouldn't be too concerned about mail order or internet order, so long as you're dealing with a reputable company that stands behind its products. I haven't heard anything but positive statements about Sampson's products and customer service. Furthermore, Sampson seems to spec its bikes with high-end parts at a reasonable price. I gave Sampson serious consideration when I recently purchased. BTW, I ordered my new custom bike over the phone and am very happy with it.

No experience with the Telluride. I ride a Sampson Z7. Eric was great to work with, and my bike fits perfectly. I "down-graded" the wheels on my bike. When I got it, I had a bit of a surprise, Eric had put Dura-Ace Cranks (instead of Ultegra) on it to even up the cost that he saved on the wheels. Nothing bad to say about dealing with him, he's even answered quite a few rather stupid questions in the months after I got my bike.
