Cleets Grinding?(6 posts)

Cleets Grinding?Kristin

I'm guessing this is a bad thing. My Looks are sort of a hybrid shoe (whatever that means), and the tread isn't quite deep enough to keep the cleets off the ground. I need to install the wings (or whatever they're called) and am unsure how. I figure this is something I can handle myself, but I lack the owners manual.
More info neededJ.S.

didn't you know that? :-) The shoes are Look (close to Ms319's, but with a flatter tread). The pedals are retired Shimano Ultegra (sorry, I forgot the model number). I'll have to bring that info in tomorrow. They look similar to 6500's.
No need for pontoonsJ.S.

It appears you have MTB or commuter shoe (Ms) with a recessed cleat area, if the cleat scrapes a little while walking it's fine, however if the shoes have no rubber sole at all you will need pontoons.
That's what they're called!Kristin

Bummer, the grinding is rather like nails on a chalkboard. That'll push me into a shoe upgrade quickly.
