My local club has been rejuvenated by MTBR's. It has doubled the turnout at our training rides. I must admit at one time I was a typical roadie snob. But meeting people with a different perspective has made me come to realize that a bike is a bike we just ride them in different places.

I have been riding since the mid 80's and have never owned a MTB but I think I'll be taking the plunge next winter.
Welcome on, GTRiderboy nigel

Hey,

I posted something on mtbr.com recently (a pedal question), and got some fine and enthusiastic responses. Nice bunch over there. We've got a cool group here as well, and you'll get some sound and friendly advice from most of the RBRers.

Cool ride. Specialized makes a nice bike, and yours should serve you well for years and years. Plus, there's always upgradability, should you desire a lighter this or a firmer that over time (which many of us do as we progress). Have a great time on it, and enjoy the SPEED of it all.
