|Does anybody know if there is a product (like a plastic clip with cable guides) that you can put on your head tube that will prevent the cables from wearing through the paint?
I see there are a few bike mfg companies that are wising up and welding the cable guides on the head tubes instead of the down tubes. Unfortunately, I don't have one of those.
If I can't find anything... would any of you fellow cyclists purchase one if I designed and sold it?

|You could use the plastic stick-on tape, chain stay protectors. CC, Excel, Performance, etc. should have them. (Inexpensive - $6.00; 1 1/2" X 10').|

|Cross you cables. Then they won't rub on the head top. All of my bikes are setup this way. The front shifter housing & cable cross the head tube ( in front ) and go in the right shifter boss. The rear shifter housing & cable go to the left shifter boss. About half way down the downtube the cables cross back to their needed alignment. This prevents all headtube rubing.|| |
