I am 28 years old and live in southern Indiana. I have been riding since I was a wee little thing. I rode BMX/Freestyle bikes through high school. In college I got into MTB's and still ride them. I want to get into road bikes, but am for the most part clueless. So if I ask a few stupid questions you'll know why;)

OK, my first question (I'm sure your sick of this one) is what bike to buy?
Here are my needs in a road bike:
I doubt I will ever race, but who knows.
I like steel over aluminum (at least with MTB's).
I will ride about 150-200 miles a week.
I don't have a lot of cash ($700-$800 on the bike).
I have heard Campy is better than Shimano in the lower end groups.
I would rather have a double over a triple.

My hopes are to get some ideas on a few bikes, and then go test ride to make a final decision.

This seems to be a great place.
Thanks in advance!

try www.gvhbikes.com. after looking at their inventory, call Gary and ask lots of questions. I think he just might be able to build you a bike for that price. try to get carbon forks though. Stay away from alu forks, whatever you do. Good luck.
