I'm NOT a "roadie" but respect the endurance it creates.
I ride to work every day & see too much on the road to want to do be on the street for fun, I prefer getting hit by falling down, not by moving metal... SO, I 've had "ET" on many different message boards and web-sites for years & now that Gregg is moving mtbr/passion to here, I see someone already has my handle...
I also see that there is no storage for photos like passion has(had).
Just venting, thanks for listening (reading)

This could get ugly......J.S.

I just checked out MTBR passion and it appears that MAYBE 10% of the posts actually concern bikes. I Would like to welcome you to this board but I would not want to see turned into the personal chat room that MTBR passion seems to be. I also ride MTB's but I refrain from posting regarding them here, this is a roadbike forum.
I think you missed the pointFiver

Passion is not going to invade this board. Gregg recently announced that Passion will eventually be switching over to a format similar to this one, and when it does everyone will need to register their screen names. Unfortunately, the screen names go across the board--only one person can register a name at MTBR, RoadBikeReview, SnowboardReview, etc. That's why he came here looking for the person who registered "ET" first.

BTW, comparing Passion to this forum isn't quite fair. MTBR's techtalk boards are similar to this one.
I did. Didn't mean no harm. Honest.ET

Didn't know someone else out there had a similar handle till now. My first name is Elliott, there was the movie ET where I believe ET dualed in meaning as "ExtraTerrestrial" and as the first and last letter of Elliott (the monster), hence a handle was born. While I thought it was clever and original back then, now it seems to be everywhere: placed next to the time of every AP and Reuters dispatch, your other handles, etc. Oh well.

I presume we can change our handle just by changing Preferences. If you become a regular here and remain heartbroken not having your familiar handle, maybe I'll switch to something else.
Just double-checked something, ET.boy nigel

In the Spielberg flick, Elliot isn't the creature's name at all; it's the young boy's name (the boy he befriends). "E.T." stood solely for "Extra Terrestrial." The alien touches the boy at some point and says, "El-li-ot," and the boy then knows that he understands.

Just straightening things out. Keep the handle, though. You had it here first (and we all know and love you--well, okay, not ALL of us).

:)

Kidding, buddy. Keep the name, though. You had it first.

"Off with his head!", sez the Queen.

This has happened before with Big Ring being challenged by BigRing (with out the space between). Big Ring relinquished to BigRing, then BigRing has never posted again as yet.

Thought (in the beginning) the 'user moniker' was linked to the dot.com address and so first-come; first-serve, or use of the handle as it were. But now not so sure as most postees (not Poasties) don't reveal their dot.com address as some chat board require so as to winnow out the flames, pact-ignorers, etc.

In any event
