i'm doing my master's recital in voice this April 21. it's saturday night, if you're in the inland empire/LA area, it might be fun to check out.
anyways, it's in Lyman Hall in Pomona College (in Claremont) @ 8pm

i'll be singing Beethoven's An die ferne geliebte, a Faure cycle (no puns intended), Richard Strauss, schumann, Donaudy (5 of them and im not including O del mio amato ben), and John Dowland.

so if you're interested in vocal music, come by and check it out :)

I bet cycling is a great performance enhancer -- both for lung capacity and endurance.

Congratulations. I am a music director, so I know how nerve wracking recitals can be. Good luck. What are you planning to do with your degree?

I wish I was in the LA area -- I would def. show up. I second Tiger's question, what are your vocal plans? I'm a vocalist in Chicago and hope to be doing work for local radio or commercials etc... in about 2 years. Its fun to meet other cycling singers! :)

yeah, can't say that cycling has helped my singing very much, but on those near vertical climbs, if i concetrate on trying to memorize my music, then the hill goes by faster. so next time, if you're passing someone on a hill and he seems to be mumbling foreign language to him self, don't point your finger and laugh, b/c it might be me :)

oh, teaching credential for teaching music in highschool. if i can get a college job conducting then i'd def. go for that.

Have a great recital! I'm way up here in Washington so I can't go. I too, am a musician and have a music degree (and a computer degree) from CWU. Good luck! :)

However, I'll be at Lake Arrowhead with the family for the weekend. Maybe you can figure out a way to post at least a portion of your recital as a sound file on this site. Good luck.
