what is the difference between areo and non aero brake levers?

when you see ads placed on ebay or other classifieds for "aero brake levers" they're usually just non-sti/ergo levers. brake levers specifically designed for time trial or triathalon use are usually described as reverse-pull and are levers without hoods.

On aero levers, the cable comes out the bottom of the, uh, the thing I can't remember the name of, so it can be routed along the handlebars and you tape over it. Non-aeros are the ones where the cable comes out the top and loops in front of the bike.
Non-aeros have a slight theoretical edge in performance because the cable doesn't have to make any sharp turns, but it's so small nobody takes it seriously.
