Trying to get back in shape after a long winter. Does anyone use a dietary supplement that helps speed metabolism during exercise? Do they work and are they safe?

Sure, use caffeine all the time. Makes the effort seem less for given exertion so you go harder.

I am currently using Xenadrine. It seems to work pretty well without feeling wired, unless I have just become accustomed to it. These kinds of things have a diuretic effect so make sure you drink A LOT of water. Safety seems to be pretty good, but I am sure that can be debated. I have noticed that my heart rate is a bit higher (both at rest and on the bike) while using these types of products. I think I heard that most of these products have ingredients that are banned for the pro's. There are warnings on these, make sure to read them before purchasing it.

I considered Xenadrine --- until I did a newsgroup search on it. Go to google.com and search the single word "xenadrine" and read what comes up. I'll do it the old fashioned way. And if I never shed those last 10 pounds . . . so be it.
