How's the Carrera coming along? Was browsing the gallery and saw your frame. I wanna see a picture of it if it's complete. Carrera's are definitely beautiful.

Nope not complete yet. Just bought the seat and seat post both of which are pantographed so not ultra light, I've got the crank and no chain rings, ti spokes are being ordered next week, and the hubs are in the mail. I'm looking to have it finished around the start of june. So far with the wheel set the weight is 11.13lbs. Some one I know has the exact wheelset I'm building so this weight does include the skewers, rims tires, and cassette. Hopefully I'll have pictures of my derosa up next week, spectrum said it's in the mail and should arrive around the end of the week. TTFN

I think you may have misread, the total so far is 11lbs 13oz and missing a good number of parts. Based on actual weighted parts that have gone through the shop the bike will weight just under 18lbs, though not everything will be ultra light on it. Ie the frame, seat post and seat, which are steel, aluminum, and comfortable. Doug slone oth has a circa 15lbs bike, so they can go fairly lightly. As for my weight, I ain't tellin. TTFN

i see ..i wonder how light the lightest simple bike would be, it would be the pinacle of technology, the fastest man powered land machine..i guess it would be a track bike..yea i read about dougs bianchi, seems a good deal....i guess lightness isnt as impotant as aero for being fast anyway

Well, in any case, light or not, it's a beautiful frame. Thanks for posting the pictures. I for one am looking forward to seeing the bike completed.
