Why don't they end the TDF with a TT anymore? ...DT

...it sure would make it more interestng to watch, not that it's boring, but the excitement of a possible ending like LeMond's would probably draw more media attention to our sport!

1989 was one of the rare years where the Society chose to end the tour with a time trial. This is by no means the norm. The traditional finish is the parade through Paris. It would be very hard to duplicate the finish of 89. These days one rider seems to be 2-4 minutes ahead of his closest competition. Even Pantani could hold a 4 minute lead in a short TT so the drama would not be there ;-). Since it is primarily a parade, I enjoy the build up to the final sprint which is always fast and exciting.
