I'm considering the Trek 1000 or the KHS Flite 300. Anyone have any opinions on either bike. Thanks in advance.

I am buying the trek.... I haven't ridden it yet but I hear it is going to be a good entry bike. When I finally pay it off I will post the results.

as far as i know the biggest difference between the two is the KHS is a steel frame where as the Trek is an alu frame. that's going to make a big difference in the feel of the ride. both are good bikes, and both companies have good reputations.

I think the Flite 300 is similar: Reynolds 853 frame, generic carbon fiber fork. It's an excellent value. The ride is very comfy, especially after replacing the saddle with an Avocet O2 and tires with Michelin Hi Lite Prestiges. The bike sizing is on the small side, so you need to add 1 or 2 cm to what you're used to.
