By chance I was in Monterey last week. And also by chance, I arrived there during the Robert Talbot Criterium. The most memorable thing I saw was a collision between a racer and an official on his motor cycle. I know what you are thinking, poor guy on the bike, well, he never touched the ground. For some reason, several riders stopped in the corner that turned onto Cannery Row(not sure why, I dont think the pace car had passed them)anyhow, one guy didn't get far enough out of the way, and the motorcycle clipped his rear wheel. The racer was fine, but the cycle hit the ground, right in the corner. Luckily the official got up and they cleared the courser before the rest of the field made the corner, but barely. Scary moment, but everyone was ok.
