Anyone know anything about these? I am kind of new to roadie stuff and was looking at buying a bike that had these components. Thanks in advance for any help.

Athena occupied the niche in the product lineup where Daytona now sits and was replaced by Daytona for 2000. Well made, kind of heavy in the same ways that Veloce is heavier than the better groups. My riding bud had a Masi 3V built with Athena and he was perfectly happy with it.

I started out full Athena on my Gios about 5?? yrs ago. I slowly upgraded and moved them to my beater frame. They have tons of mileage on them and still going strong. Only problem is they are very heavy. By the time I made the full conversion I took almost 2 lbs off the weight when compared to Chorus. Try http://www.campyonly.com and search. They may be able to provide additional info.
Thanks for the help! (nm)malfunction
