first does any know the url for guercoitti ( not sure if the spelling is right). secondly i'm a newbie to the sport and would like to know the difference b/t alum. frame and steel frame. thanks in advance

There is a site (http://www.guerciotti.it/) but all you get is an "under construction" page. A listing of Italian bike manufacturers at http://www.virtualitalia.com/sports/bike_manuf.shtml does list Guerciotti but has no web link for them.

Regarding steel vs. Al: one smart a$$ response is that steel frames are made of steel and aluminum frames are made of aluminum. You can get all kinds of rides in either material, so you can't really make any blanket comparison. If you want to compare specific frames, you'll have to tell us which ones.
