|The above bike manufacturers are customers of mine and will sell me any bike they make for 80% off list price, so cost is not part of my problem. My problem is that I am new to bike touring, and want to do a couple of 1 week credit card tours each summer and maybe an occasional self-supported tour. When not doing that, I'll just be riding around Seattle for fun. Can anyone help me pick out a new bike?|

|80% off? buy one of all three makes! then ride to decide which is best...then sale the others!|

|I agree completely, get all three. Of course you have to realize that your talking to a bunch of --what non-cyclists think are-- absolutely insane morons. "Who in their right mind would pay more than $300 for a bike?" They say. They don't get it, and that's fine with most of us I think.
Also, there's a good chance you're gonna love it and want all three (or quite possibly more) bikes in the near future anyhow. Get 'em all!

|Money is an issue. If it is, try to test ride as many of them as possible before making a decision. Look around the board for one of the millions of posts concerning bike fit. Fit is key.|| |
