|Can anyone out there recommend a good book for someone who doesn't know much about bicycle repair/maintenance? I want to be able to do regular maintenance and some common repairs, but I don't have any experience working on bicycles. Thanks for any suggestions.|

|I'm surprised that no one has jumped on this topic. Fear of flaming? I guess I'll see...
Lennard Zinn is a frame maker / mechanic based in Colorado. He's written separate books for Road and Mountain Bike repair. I don't think these books would help with a 1942 Huffy, but he covers most equipment on newer bikes. Anyway, I haven't used the advanced sections of this book, but for general bicycle maintenance it has been very helpful.
