|I've seen most of the people that ride in my area wear their shorts over tights. My tights (Pearl Izumi) do not have a chamois, whereas my shorts do, so I reasoned tights over shorts. Is this one of those personal decisions or is there a proper way to wear shorts and tights?|

|that's funny... well, i thought it was typical to do tights over shorts, for just the reason you mentioned.
and here's another good reason. now that it's starting to warm up, wouldn't you want to have shorts as the bottom-most layer? in case you needed to peel anything off? :)

|They are probaly wearing legs warmers which extend above the knee and most people just tuck them under the leg grippers. Wearing actual tights under your shorts is asking for saddle sores.|

|Unless for some reason they have another pair of shorts on under their tights.|

|Never two chamois. Chamois next to skin. Tights w/o chamios over shorts w/ chamois. Leg or knee warmers tucked under shorts.

|Most probably you've seen someone with leg warmers under the leg grippers of the shorts. I wear my leg warmers first and then my shorts. This way, it keeps the leg warmers from sliding down. Most pros riding in cold weather use leg warmers rather than tights--I wonder why? Is it to display their team/sponsor name? Why couldn't they make tights with team/sponsor names? Or are they just being macho?|| |
