|Hey, in response to the replys I recieved about not having to buy a double shifter to go from triple to double, I e-mailed Trek to check. They said I did need a new one, what gives?|

|IF you are using 9 speed Shimano 105 or Ultegra, check out http://www.shimano.com
On this site you will see the ST-6500/6501 and the ST-5500/5500-C. You will notice that they are all double/triple compatible. It has been this way for as long as I have seen these groups in 9 speed. I don't know exactly what Trek is trying to tell you but I'll bet if you talked to another person there, they would give you a different one than the first.

|The shifters are the same for either a double or a triple, for all Shimano groups except Sora. Whether Trek is trying to cheat you or there's a misunderstanding between you, one can't be sure- but I doubt they're really trying to cheat you.|

|You posted a question last week and a couple of people, who have nothing to either gain or lose, took their time to compose answers. Not trusting those answers, you E-mailed the same question to Trek. Then, when you got a different answer fron Trek, your assumption is Trek is trying to cheat you.
This poses a couple of questions:
Since you can't buy a shifter directly from Trek, how could they possibly be trying to cheat you?
Why even bother to ask Trek the question if you are going to be so distrustful of an answer that differs from what you were told previously.?

|Now look, it had nothing to do with beleiving or not in your replys, I simply wanted more input. I never specifically told ya'll whaat model I had so I asked them due to Shimanos lack of a question feature. By the way, I have Sora, so I gotta upgrade. D@#%|| |
