Pulled my wheel out of alignment(2 posts)

Ok, hoping this is as simple as my not having my rear wheel's nuts tight enough. I was cranking up a hill really mashing on the pedals and pulled my rear wheel such that the tire rubbed against the frame and locked it all up.

It wasn't too bad. I'm in NYC and only had to shoulder the bike about a 1/2 mile to get to somewhere with a wrench.

So does it sound as if the track nuts I have on the back weren't tight enough?

Thanks

yea. probably not tight enough. if you have stainless steel drop-outs that may also be the problem. the hardness of SS makes it hard for the nuts to bite in. if you continue to slip the rear wheel you could always get some BMX style chain tensioners aka chain tugs, as long as you have track style DO's.
