Verticle dropout chain slack, How much?kiwisimon

The wife balked at a new eno eccentrentric hub so i'll be running a single speed hub in verticle drop out cannie. My question is how hard is it to get the combination you want? Obviously depends on chainstay length but how much chain slack at minimum and maximum can i get? I was looking at a 42 X 16 but figure a cog up or down won't kill me. Appreciate any input
cheers

too much and your drive train will bind and cause premature wear..
too little, and your chain will fall off...
find the equilibium between the two = 1/2" of slack
