| Doug - I'm working toward a fixed brevet series... | PdxMark Jan 14, 2004 2:09 PM | | not a 508, for sure, but a goal I can manage (maybe). This year I'll ride the series multi-gear, then if all goes well plan to do it fixed or SS next year. |
| sidebar | DougSloan Jan 14, 2004 4:17 PM | | I'm going to be in Portland from the 16th to 28th for depositions. Know where I can rent a road bike and hook up with a ride or two? thanks.

A nice little shop that supposedly has (or had) a few road bikes for rent. THey are a quick trolly ride & short walk from downtown.
What size? If that doesn't work, I have a slick-tired Cannie hard tail you could use.
A ride would be great. (I might have to tighten the hubs on the Cannie to slow you down.) |
| Here's another option | PdxMark Jan 14, 2004 9:05 PM | | The Community Cycling Center is a non-profit that takes in donated bikes, refurbishes & sells them. I haven't been there since I donated a bike a few years ago, but you might be able to buy one to use for a couple weeks... and then return as a tax deductible donation.
