Miche Primato Pista cranks?DougSloan

Anyone familiar with this crankset? I'm interested in it since it has a 135 mm bcd, which would make getting rings for it much easier. How does it compare with a Campy Pista or Dura Ace in terms of weight, stiffness, durability, and finish (aesthetics)? Thanks.

Also, can it use any tapered bb, like a Record or Phil?

I have them on my fixed road and they are nice, especially for the money.

This guy is an excellent source for Miche stuff, and knows track components well and can tell you the good/bad of anything.

I can only compare them to Campy, because I've never had D/A. They are about the same weight, but a little less stiff. The finish is awesome, being in league with Campy. I used the Miche BB, which is a nice piece, although a bit heavy. I also tried a Campy Chorus BB and it was an excellent fit. The Miche BB has very nice bearings and a bullet-proof spindle.

I also have Miche hubs, and I love them. I build wheels for a lot of guys around me, and these are the nicest track hubs I've seen, aside from Phil Wood. Very nice bearings, and good flanges.
thanks; good info nmDougSloan
