Fenders on a fixed gearhypnos

I'm hoping build SS/fixed bike for use as my rainy day bike. Is anyone using fenders on their bikes? If the rear wheel is mounted in track tips, is it a problem to get the fender adjusted properly?
SKS fenders work great, if you have clearanceDave Hickey

I have plenty of room to slide the rear wheel out but this bike has plenty of tire clearance.........

What frame are you using?

I have not ordered the frame yet. Using SKS fenders, I could see myself having to remove them every time I remove the rear wheel.

I have plenty of room with out touching the fender and I'm using 28c tires on this bike but every frame is different
not much clearance = easy on/off SKS raceblades! (nm)jtferraro

I've got a van dessel crb, and I use Planet Bike Freddy Fenders. The solution to the track tip problem involved "customizing" the rear fender. I cut off a good amount of the front of the rear fender. Drilled a new mounting hole, and removed one pair of stay supports. I then roated the rear fender forward.

This solution affords all the benefits of regular fenders, but people behind are not protected. Of course, this is not really my problem ;)

Here is my Van Dessel Straight Up. I'm using standard SKS 45mm wide fenders. I have plenty of room to get the rear wheel out. The beauty of either the Planet bike or SKS fenders is they are easy to modify if there is a clearance issue.

Hey Dave - looking good. Did you end up using the Van Dessel wheel? If so how do you like it? How is the chainline?

I haven't gotten the wheel yet.Dave Hickey

I'm still waiting for the VD wheel. The rear wheel is an old Mavic MA3 laced to an RX100 cassette hub. I'm using a Shimano BMX cog with a ton of spacers. I have unlimited chainline options(single speed, not fixed).
