|I'm new to the SS forum and I'm a bit confused as to what is required to convert an old road frame into a SS bike. Basically, my understanding is that I can keep pretty much the same, except the rear hub and crank. To do a simple an cheap conversion, any suggestions on cheap parts to use?|

|I was planning to use my old crankset, but when I overhauled the drivetrain, I couldn't find a chainring that fit the bolt pattern on my crank. Otherwise, that wouldn't have been a problem. I also took that opportunity to replace the bottom bracket. As far as a cheap hub, I went with the Suzue basic flip-flop. It works well enough, but it needs repacking more often than I feel like doing it. I go about 6 months, other folks do it monthly.
