|Goldilocks and the Three Gears...||PdxMark|

|Once upon a time there was a Bianchi Pista with its stock 48/16 gearing that seemed far too stiff for Goldilocks to even consider as a beginning fixie rider.
So Goldilocks straight-away tries the 48/19 Papa gear. The legs feel great, the lungs feel great, and even the 3500' Larch Mtn. feels good, but in time the knees start to complain and Goldilocks decides that the Papa Gear is toooo big.
So after an online trip to Harris Cyclery Goldilocks tries the 44/19 Baby Gear and finds that the flats and descents have too much spinning, so Goldilocks decides that the Baby Gear is tooooo small.
Then, reaching to the bottom of the box from HarrisCyclery, Golidlocks tries the 44/18 Mama Gear, and it all seems juuust right.
A few more miles and climbs are needed to see if the knees are happy, but at least I'm entertaining my multi-geared friends with my search for the perfect gearing.
