Strong Frames fixed/ss S&S couled bikeNP

This was a toally self-indulgent project which Carl Strong and his small team completed just perfectly. His design is just great for the intended use (commuting, and travelling light), the build process was enthralling (Carl emailed me some pics of the frame in progress, we discussed it via email and 20 mins later he emailed some new pics with the seastays changed from straight to hour glass), the welds are perfect (in fact they're almost not there) and the build up was fine. If you are ever looking for a modern true custom builder, you will not go wrong with Carl.

Couplers on a fixie... nice touch.

I have my order in with Vanilla Bicycles, but it's going to be 5-6 months of waiting... so I get to spend that time obsessing over and collecting components

Well, I said it was a totally self-indulgent project - it's made from the new Reynolds 6/4 ti tubing. Went for ti because, when beadblasted, it looks fantastic (like the ultimate stealth bike) and it avoids paint chips/damage when breaking the frame down and travelling with it. Went for 6/4 ti because....well, you can't take it with you. And it rides sooooo comfortably.
nice bike & choice of tubingTig

That is one very nice bike. Strong did it right. The new Reynolds 6/4 makes me want to finally try Ti. They have come up with an excellent butted Ti tube set for a comfortable, light ride without giving up too much to excessive flex.

Be sure to give us a few ride reports.
