Whats all this talk about Knee Pain?Trevo

I hear peoople talk about knee pain? Maybe I've yet to experience this cause Iam only 18?

... and I've been singlespeeding close to 45 years.

I think it is mostly a myth, although you certainly can cause it with lousy fit or screwed-up pedals.

My one bout with IT-band friction syndrome was caused by simultaneously jacking up the seat about 1 cm and going to cranks 0.5 cm longer, and then seeing how I liked it on the gnarliest century I've ever run.

On the whole, cycling is GOOD for knees. I'd guess 1/3 to 1/2 of all competitive cyclists are former runners who's knees gave out.

I've had friends who were advised by their doctors to take up cycling, as an exercise to strengthen knees, after they injured them in other sports.
