Suzue hub and cog – What am I doing wrong?…(3 posts)

Suzue hub and cog – What am I doing wrong?…TFerguson

On a road bike conversion that I am running on the track I have a bottom-of-the-line Suzue track hub (from Excel) with DA cog and lock ring. I thread the cog on but it only leaves enough room to thread the lock ring on about ¾ of a turn. That's not even one complete thread! Something isn't right. What am I missing? I also tried it on a friend's Suzue that hasn't been built yet and found the same thing.

Thanks,
TF

the DA cog has a wider shoulder than some other cogs. thank shimano for that.

i've got the same hub as you and ran into that problem before as well. luckily, the surly cogs work well and leave plenty of room for the lock ring.
Doesn't that give you a different chain line? (nm)TFerguson
