Chain Width questions...SenorPedro

So straighten me out if I am wrong, but could I use a 1/8" chain on a 3/32" chainring with minimal problems?

If I use a bmx or track chain and 1/8" cog could I still use a 3/32" ring up front is what I am trying to say. This would save me from having to get a 144 track crank to use track rings. Or does this really matter at all? Just stick with the 3/32"?

Thanks,

-Pedro

Yes you can. Using 1/8 chain with 3/32 ring is no problem

I use 3/32" chains, because I think they run quieter on 3/32" chainrings. The KMC chain company has a website with specs on all their chains. I use the 3/32" BMX chains, which have longer rivets than derailer chains, and they come with old-fashiioned 3 piece master links.
Either rear cog or chainring 1/8', then must use 1/8" ...Humma Hah

If both sprockets are 3/32, you can use 1/8" chain with minimal problems ... some claim it's a little noisy.
