|Steamroller ride quality?||timfire|

|I might have the opportunity to trade my Jamis Quest (which I currently have rigged up as a SS), for a Steamroller (or possibly another track bike). The Quest has served me well, and it seems that the Quest has a slightly better frame, but it might be nice to have a dedicated SS/fixie frame.
What do you all think? I was particularly interested in the Steamroller's ride quality. I usually do around 300 miles a week, so I was wondering if the Steamroller was a "all-day-bike" or not.

|i've not ridden "all day" on it yet, but have done 70+ mile rides on the steamroller with no problems. rode it fixed as primary bike through winter and sorely miss the ride now that i've broken out the gears.
as compared to jamis quest, i have no idea. however, the steamroller is one of two surly frames i have at home, the second (cross-check) purchsed after 1 year with the steamroller.

|Ive put a fair number of epic rides on mine and have zero complaints of ride quality. I used it on ragbrai last summer, perfect bike for that. it initially felt a bit harsh to me, coming off of a van dessel frame with s bend stays and a carbon fork, but I like it alot now.|| |
