I feel like I am not spinning well. I can't get my cadence over 150 going downhill before I have to feather the brake to keep it under 30mph (have a 48/19 combo) which is a 150 cadence. Am I out of the norm?

There is a hill near my house that I routinely ride, holding 34 mph in a 48x18, or 161 rpms. Now, I have to lift slightly off the saddle, and it's very tiring and requires a lot of concentration, but doable.

I can momentarily hit 180 or so, but can hold it.

With back pressure, I can avoid braking on all hills except those I'd hit over about 50 mph on a coasting bike.

After the reply I left work and figured I am going to stick my head down and try to see what I can do. I got up to 31.5 mph which means a 160 cadence for me. That was a peak but I didn't hold it long.

I never knew uphills looked so inviting until I started riding downhills with this fixie.
