Finally commuted on the fixedbigrider
Apr 14, 2003 4:02 AM
After riding my fixed at work on dead flat roads all winter long for 13 mile rides each day (it was above freezing and dry) I took it home and brought in a geared bike. Well I decided to commute today and rode the fixed. There are serious rolling hills coming to work. I maxed out at 30mph going downhill. The rythymn of riding the fixed on the hills was not what I expected. I thought it would be more difficult and I would suffer more than being on a gear bike. I found myself working up and down the hills smoother and it normalized my speeds.
