Help with bar/lever comboKEN2
Mar 19, 2003 3:31 PM
Does anyone have any advice for road levers that will pull V-brakes? I'm building up a fixed gear, using the Profile cowhorn bar (Airwing model). Most people use bar-end levers on these bars, but they don't work with V's and anyway I want a mountain-style lever that is actuated off the straight center section of the bar. Clamp size, however, is too small on regular V-levers--they don't fit.

287Vs are what I am using on my SS cross/fixed-gear with XTR V brakes. The combo works perfectly.

I'm building up a Surly Cross-Check SS/Fixie. I'm taking my time with the build (low funds) but it will have the same Dia-Compe levers and XTR Brakes.

That's what I'm using with the V-brakes on my singlespeed 'cross/commute/road bike. I believe they are your only option. Make sure to get the 287-V and not the regular 287.
What is the bar diameter where you want to mount them? (nm)TFerguson
