need a new front caliper on the fixie with extra reach. When they say 53 or 57mm, where is that measured from? The fixing bolt, the bottom of the caliper? Fork crown? Where exactly.

from the center line of the fixing bolt to the centerline of the brake pad holder typically. After having done a fair amount of research on this subject, the only off the shelve game in town currently are the Shimano Ultegra series of brakes for long reach. The brake is a dual pivot. My other idea, is to score an old pair of MAFAC center pulls.
