|That makes my longest ride 16 miles or so. Lots of fun and a few surprises.
First surprise was that getting down was harder than getting up. It felt like I was trying to do too many things at one time. I'm sure that in time it will become second nature.
I had no idea how frequently I stop pedalling. Looking over my shoulder, readjusting my shorts, bumps, grabbing a water bottle all lifted me off the seat when I tried to do them with my left foot stopped at the top of the stroke. I do each of these tasks on a multi-speed bike by momentarily disconnecting from the bike. It's fun staying constantly connected.
It was a pleasant surprise how easily I could climb some hills in a 42x15.
All and all it was lots of fun and I hope to use it lots more, especially for commuting.
Can anybody ride backwards?

|congrats on the ride! 'tis strange how often you unconciously stop pedaling.
I had putted around in front of the house prior to yesterday, and couldn't wait to get out for a real ride. Did maybe 20~25 miles on flat bike paths. Caught up to another rider on a fixie - former messenger riding a track bike, got to compare notes. Also my first ride w/Egg Beaters, so lots of new-ness yesterday. Love the pedals.
