is it in any way possible to put a brake on a fork not drilled out for a brake? can i drill out a hole if need be?

|if there's room for a hole you can drill it but...for heavy road use you'd be better off swapping it out for a suitable road fork. probably handle a bit better and will hold up better to the stresses of road riding.|

|I'd compare a fork built for brakes to ensure that the amount of material is the same. If it were me, I'd throw down for a new fork. Having a fork fail could ... well it's hard to say but I wouldn't take that chance. I've had a fork and stem fail on different occasions. I was very lucky as the fork bent severely and I noticed it at the summit *before* the fast bomber descent. It would have folded for sure.
Both were on dirt and at low speeds. It scares me to imagine how a high speed fork failure would play out.
