Just built this up from a yard sale bike, has a nice old DB 531 frame, an Avocet crankset, Superbe brake(s), and ancient Phil Wood hubs w/ bolts. Took all the cogs off the Suntour freewheel, put the 18T back on, and welded the freewheel together...the chainline is almost right. Total cost for conversion so far is $5 for BMX chainring bolts...but plan to buy or build a proper FG rear wheel if I end up riding it a lot.

That is a great yard sale find! Phil track hubs - what a bonus!
Very cool, and at an excellent price! -nmTig

Reminds me a lot of my Bianchi fixie. Are those 27' wheels? That's a BIG frame!
thanks...wheels are indeed 27" and frame is 25"(nm)ukiahbill

Cool! I thought I was the only one w/ an Austro-Daimler Fixie. It's my first road bike, bought it in high school in NYC about 1980. A lot of A.D.'s in the city back then. This bike has followed me through many years and I'll probably never let it go. I'll post a pic soon.
