My fixed gear project...scary slow
Feb 19, 2003 12:45 PM
I finally got my fixie project frame back from the powder coat shop. I am building it up slowly with parts off of ebay. I decided to build this bike as tribute to my father who passed away last month. This frame was my first road bike. It has seen a ton of miles, alot of them along side my father. He was a huge UNC Tarheel fan, hence the Carolina blue color. I'll post some more pics when it is done.

There is place over in Titusville, FL called Color Cure that I sent it to. Be careful where you take it though. I have seen some frames that looked awful. I sent mine to this place after quite a few recommendations. I know the picture is fuzzy, but the frame looks close to perfect. I was amazed when I got it back. Best part is it cost $50 to get it done. All I did was strip the parts off and they did the rest.

Good luck on finishing the project. Remember some of the mail order places have closeouts that will compare to used stuff on ebay.

First, sorry to hear about your father. I'm a UNC alum so I understand your dad's support of the Heels. This is a great tribute to him. Can't wait to see the pics when it's done. Carolina Blue bike rolling along under Carolina Blue skies - sweet.
Glad it is not Puke Blue, I mean Duke Blue nmbigrider
