|Bent rear axle||ChrisK|

|I have only recently started riding fixed, about 100 miles or so in total, but after removing the back wheel the axle is bent at both ends. I had converted a vertical dropout frame to fixed by careful selection of gearing but have now purchased a Steamroller as there is not much you can do when the chain 'stretches' with vertical dropouts so I don't believe it to be a viable option anymore.
Could the vertical dropouts have anything to do with the bending or are some axles weaker than others. I have Suzue hubs. Any advice on axles?

|I don't know if its coincidence but I bent the rear axle in my promax hub last summer. I was trying out an on-one chain tensioner at the time and I think that applied too much leverage to the end of the axle. I replaced the axle with another from suzue and havent had a problem since. I ditched the chain tensioner too.|| |
